Bradford County Commissioners just pushed through a hasty permit application to allow Chemours to expand their mining operations in wetlands along the Trail Ridge, publicly owned land. What happened? What can we do now?
The Bradford County Commission on Thursday night voted 3-2 to approve a permit allowing titanium mining within its borders. The Chemours Company proposed a special permit in September to mine on 886 acres of land.
Thanks to the hard work by Carol Mosley, Kate Ellison and Paul Still, there was standing room only at the Sustainable Living Center at Hampton for the Bradford Environmental Forum on Sept. 28 in Hampton. Attendees came from as far away as Ona, a three and a half hour drive, and St. Petersburg.
